Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may receive your name, email address, programme or product selected, payment status, subscription status, marketing preferences and messages you send to us. PayPal processes payment-card and account information; Moonlight Mandarin does not receive your full card details.
How we use it
- To process enrolment and deliver the course or membership you purchased.
- To send essential service messages about your purchase, schedule or account.
- To provide a free challenge or other resource you requested.
- To send Chinese lessons, learning tips and occasional offers when you have opted in.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and keep appropriate business records.
Marketing emails
Marketing is optional. Purchase checkboxes are unticked by default, and you can buy without agreeing to marketing. If you opt in, PayPal supplies the email associated with your verified purchase so you do not need to enter it again. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every marketing email.
Services we use
We use service providers including Netlify for website hosting, PayPal for payment processing, Mailchimp for email communications and Calendly for lesson bookings. Each provider handles information under its own privacy terms and security arrangements.
How long we keep information
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed to provide services, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and respect marketing opt-outs. Mailchimp keeps suppression information so that people who unsubscribe are not emailed again accidentally.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, object to or restrict certain uses, or withdraw marketing consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal. Contact us at moonlightmandarin@gmail.com.
