difference between “一点 (yì diǎn)”, “有一点 (yǒu yì diǎn)”,and
“一会儿 (yí huìr)”.
1.有一点(yǒu yì diǎn)
有(一)点means “a little bit” a typically used beforeADJECTIVES to describe a slight degree of something negative,such dissatisfaction or inconvenience.
有(一)点 + adj
我有(一)点饿。 (I’m a little hungry.)
明天会有(一)点冷。(It will be a little cold tomorrow.)
那个饭店有(一)点远。(That restaurant is a bit far.)
她说话有(一)点快。(She speaks a bit fast.)
2. 一点 (yì diǎn)
A. It means “a little bit” a typically used beforeNOUNS to indicate a small amount. English speakers often use “some”, in Chinese we use 一点。
有(一)点 +noun
我想吃一点东西。(I want to eat a little something.)
请给我一点水。(Please give me a little water.)
我会说一点中文。(I can speak a little Chinese.)
给我一点钱。 ( Give me a little money.)
B. 一点 can be used after the ADJECTIVE to express comparing, requesting, or expressing the speaker’s expectation.

(You’re too slow! Hurry up a bit!)
太贵了!便宜(一)点!
(It’s too expensive! Make it a bit cheaper!)
这件衬衫有点小,有没有大一点的?

(This restaurant isn’t very good. Let’s go to a better one!)
3. 一会儿 (yí huìr)
一会儿 means “a little while”. It is used to refer to a short duration of time.

我想看一会儿书。(I want to read for a little while.)
我要睡一会儿觉。 (I’m going to take a quick nap.)
